About John Lescroart

John Lescroart was born in 1948 in Houston, Texas and is an American author best known for two series of legal and crime thrillers featuring the characters Dismas Hardy  and Abe Glitsky.

Lescroart graduated from Junípero Serra High School, San Mateo, California and went on to earn a B.A. in English with Honors at UC Berkeley in 1970.

Lescroart has said in interviews that he draws greatest inspiration for his books while observing oil rigs near his  home! He has apparently written over 500 songs and enjoys playing guitar (having written over 500 songs).

He has also written several screenplays, including a musical adaptation of T.S. Eliot's Murder in the Cathedral.
